Escape cancels whatever draft is in progress.
Committing a path with width 0 shows a one-time hint: it's a centreline and prints nothing on
a mask — set a width in the Properties panel if you meant a real trace. 0 is the default path
width, so this is a first-draw hint for anyone who hasn't changed it. Saving or exporting to GDS,
OASIS, CIF or DXF says so again while any zero-width path is in the design: the "Saved as …"
message counts them and names their layers, and its Details lists every layer. A Design rules
check that passes also names a zero-width path on a layer no rule covers, and says which layers it
checked.
Command palette (Ctrl+K). Fuzzy-search every menu command and every cell, then Enter to run or jump. eperl finds "Export per layer"; typing a cell name jumps to it. A match that only finds your letters thinly scattered across a row's words is dropped rather than listed as noise. Each row shows its keyboard shortcut, so the palette doubles as a way to learn them. Esc closes. Typing a command's actual name always wins: a query that appears verbatim in a command's label or its search terms is ranked ahead of every scattered-letter match, so fillet finds "Chamfer / Fillet corners…" first rather than "Fill empty regions…". The toolbar-only operations are searchable too — align, distribute, mirror and flip reach the Align dropdown's eight ops and the two Flip buttons and run them directly, and scale / resize / offset / inset jump to (and focus) the matching field in the Properties panel's Transform section. You don't need the CAD term for the design-rule check either — errors, mistake, validate, wrong, problem and check design all reach Design rules… / Run design-rule check the same as drc does. When a result matched on something other than its own visible label — a keyword hidden behind the row, or (as a last resort) its category — a dim “Matched …” line under it names what matched; a plain label match shows none.
